Ursa means She-Bear in Portuguese. Ursa is a beautiful, creamish sheepskin, approximately 76x80cm. She’s very soft and fluffy, definitely one of my favourites! All my sheepskins are handtanned by me, with only natural fats and a lot of physical work. You can learn about the whole process here.
This sheepskin is part of a group of hides I salvaged together with my dad before they were buried underground. Due to the handling process of the skin during the processing phase, some of the hides came with holes. This particular sheepskin has two small holes that came originally with the skin (see the images). Nevertheless, they have little to no impact on the look of the sheepskin on the wool side.
All my sheepskins are brushed and vegetable matter is removed as much as possible. Nevertheless, it is always possible to find a tiny grass seed or a little bit of moss in the wool. Also, all sheepskins go through a smoking stage, which helps preserve the skin.
This sheepskin is perfect to be used as a rug, a mat on soft ground, a cover or just as decoration on a chair or sofa. Also beautiful for living history or ritual!
